Birthday Hello vs Kudoboard: which one for a birthday surprise?

Kudoboard is a group ecard: one shared board where colleagues or friends post messages, GIFs, photos and, on paid tiers, videos, and everyone with the link can read it as it fills up. Birthday Hello is built for one thing: a birthday surprise. Guests send a video, photos and a message through a private link, only the host sees them before the day, and the birthday person unwraps each gift one by one. Kudoboard fits teams and many occasions; Birthday Hello fits a personal surprise where the reveal matters.

When is Kudoboard the better choice?

  • You celebrate at work and want a board the whole team can read and react to while it fills up.
  • You need many occasions a year: farewells, work anniversaries, memorials, not just birthdays.
  • You want automatic scheduled delivery by email, or a printed poster or book of the board.
  • Few people will post and nobody needs video: a Lite board is $6.99.
  • You want to pool money for a gift card alongside the messages.

When is Birthday Hello the better choice?

  • The surprise matters: nobody but you sees the gifts before the birthday.
  • You want each person’s video, photos and message kept as its own gift, not a wall of posts.
  • More than a handful of guests will send videos: the price stays $15 whether 5 or 50 people join.
  • Your guests are on their phones and will not create anything or install anything.
  • You want the page in English or Spanish, with the vocabulary of a birthday, not of an office.

How much does one birthday cost with each?

Take a birthday with 25 guests who each send a short video. On Kudoboard you need at least the Premium board, $9.99, because the Lite board does not accept video; past 100 posts you move to Milestone at $19.99. On Birthday Hello the same event costs $15 whatever the number of guests, videos or photos, and nothing until you publish. For a small board without video, Kudoboard is cheaper; for a birthday with videos from many people, the two are close and Birthday Hello keeps the surprise.

On Birthday Hello, an average of 20 people send a gift for each birthday. The price is the same whether 5 or 50 people join.
