Birthday Hello vs GroupTogether: a card with cash, or a gift of videos?

GroupTogether is a group card plus a money pool: friends sign a digital card with a message, a photo or a GIF, chip in for a gift card, and the recipient gets the card and the money on a chosen date. The card costs $5.50 and is free when the group collects at least $20. It does not support video. Birthday Hello is the opposite shape: no money, but a video, photos and a message from every guest, delivered as gifts to unwrap on a private page, for $15 per event. Pick GroupTogether to fund a present; pick Birthday Hello when the messages are the present.

How much does one birthday cost with each?

For a birthday with 25 guests, a GroupTogether card is $5.50, and free if the group also collects at least $20 for a gift card; each contributor then pays 2.9% plus $0.30 on their payment. Birthday Hello is $15 and collects no money, but every one of those 25 guests can leave a video, photos and a message. If you want both, the two tools are not exclusive: many hosts collect money with one and messages with the other.

On Birthday Hello, an average of 20 people send a gift for each birthday. The price is the same whether 5 or 50 people join.
